Madras HC Appoints Board to Manage Chidambaram Temple Amid Maladministration Claims

The Madras High Court has ruled that the Podhu Dikshidars maladministered the Chidambaram Sabanayagar Temple, citing issues with accounting and damage to the ancient structure. The court has appointed a Board of Management, led by two retired judges, to oversee the temple's restoration and management. This board will address unauthorised constructions, retrieve encroached properties, and ensure proper financial accounts are maintained. The court expects the new management to restore the temple's former glory and conduct consecration ceremonies as per religious customs.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने कहा कि चिदंबरम सबनायगर मंदिर का प्रबंधन पोधु दीक्षदारों ने ठीक से नहीं किया। कोर्ट ने कहा कि हिसाब-किताब में गड़बड़ी थी और पुरानी इमारत को नुकसान पहुँचाया गया था। कोर्ट ने मंदिर के जीर्णोद्धार और प्रबंधन की देखरेख के लिए दो रिटायर्ड जजों की अगुवाई में एक प्रबंधन बोर्ड नियुक्त किया है। यह बोर्ड अनधिकृत निर्माणों को देखेगा, अतिक्रमण की गई संपत्तियों को वापस दिलाएगा और यह सुनिश्चित करेगा कि वित्तीय खातों का सही रखरखाव हो। कोर्ट को उम्मीद है कि नया प्रबंधन मंदिर की पुरानी शान को बहाल करेगा और धार्मिक रीति-रिवाजों के अनुसार अभिषेक समारोह आयोजित करेगा।
