India's food safety regulator has initiated action against major e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and BigBasket. The regulatory body cited several violations, including misbranding of products, making misleading claims to consumers, and the sale or display of prohibited or potentially poisonous food articles. This move by the food regulator aims to ensure consumer safety and prevent the distribution of unsafe food products through online channels.
