India Faces Driest Monsoon In 11 Years

India is experiencing its driest monsoon in 11 years, with the season's rainfall deficit currently around 12%. This marks the first deficient monsoon season since 2015 and is among the weakest since Independence. The phenomenon is largely attributed to El Niño, which is developing into the strongest on record and has weakened monsoon winds. Despite a late surge of rain from low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal, the overall rainfall deficit persists, impacting large parts of the country.

भारत 11 सालों में सबसे सूखे मानसून का सामना कर रहा है, जिसमें इस सीज़न में बारिश की कमी लगभग 12% है। यह 2015 के बाद पहला कमी वाला मानसून सीज़न है और आज़ादी के बाद के सबसे कमज़ोर मानसूनों में से एक है। इस स्थिति का मुख्य कारण अल नीनो है, जो रिकॉर्ड पर सबसे मज़बूत होता जा रहा है और इसने मानसून की हवाओं को कमज़ोर कर दिया है। बंगाल की खाड़ी में निम्न दबाव प्रणालियों से देर से हुई बारिश की तेज़ लहर के बावजूद, देश के बड़े हिस्सों को प्रभावित करने वाली बारिश की कुल कमी बनी हुई है।
