KEA Allows Free Medical Seats At SMSIMSR

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has permitted Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR) to fill 50% of its government quota medical seats with zero fees. This initiative follows a state government proposal, allowing students to receive free medical education under specific conditions, including a five-year service commitment to the institute. The National Medical Commission has approved 100 seats for 2023-24, but SMSIMSR will admit 50 students this year.

कर्नाटक एग्जामिनेशन अथॉरिटी (KEA) ने श्री मधुसूदन साई इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज एंड रिसर्च (SMSIMSR) को सरकारी कोटे की 50% मेडिकल सीटें बिना फीस के भरने की अनुमति दे दी है। यह राज्य सरकार के प्रस्ताव के बाद हुआ है। इसके तहत, छात्रों को पांच साल संस्थान में सेवा देने की शर्त पर मुफ्त मेडिकल शिक्षा मिलेगी। नेशनल मेडिकल कमीशन ने 2023-24 के लिए 100 सीटें मंजूर की हैं, लेकिन SMSIMSR इस साल 50 छात्रों को ही दाखिला देगा।
