No Assault on Ex-Minister Veena George by KSU Activists: SIT Report

SIT has concluded that former Keralam Health Minister Veena George was not assaulted by Kerala Students’ Union (KSU) activists at Kannur railway station. The SIT found that activists could not reach her as they were stopped by security personnel, and no weapon was used. The report, submitted to the State Police Chief, may lead to disciplinary action against the former gunman whose statement initiated the case. The incident stemmed from a black-flag protest on February 25.

एसआईटी ने यह निष्कर्ष निकाला है कि केरल की पूर्व स्वास्थ्य मंत्री वीना जॉर्ज पर कन्नूर रेलवे स्टेशन पर केरल स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन (केएसयू) के कार्यकर्ताओं ने हमला नहीं किया था। एसआईटी ने पाया कि कार्यकर्ता उन तक पहुँच ही नहीं पाए क्योंकि सुरक्षा कर्मियों ने उन्हें रोक दिया था, और किसी भी हथियार का इस्तेमाल नहीं हुआ। राज्य पुलिस प्रमुख को सौंपी गई इस रिपोर्ट से उस पूर्व गनर के खिलाफ अनुशासनात्मक कार्रवाई हो सकती है जिसके बयान से मामला शुरू हुआ था। यह घटना 25 फरवरी को हुए काले झंडे दिखाने वाले विरोध प्रदर्शन से उपजी थी।
