The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has allocated Rs 1.1 crore for the major repair and renovation of a defunct youth hostel in Khajamalai, Trichy. The hostel has been locked for five years due to poor maintenance, preventing its use by students and youths attending sports competitions or examinations. Following a revised proposal from Mera Yuva Bharat, the funds will facilitate a complete overhaul, including electrification, adding 46 beds, and renovating the kitchen.
