The Karnataka government is fast-tracking the Rs 725-crore Mehkri Circle flyover project in north Bengaluru to alleviate severe traffic congestion. The project involves an elevated corridor from Mehkri Circle to Baptist Hospital and a tunnel beyond Hebbal flyover, designed as an integrated solution for smoother traffic flow. Preliminary work has begun, though the tunnel component faces delays due to a high court case. An IIT Bombay report projects a 60-80% reduction in traffic congestion upon completion, aiming to improve connectivity to the airport and surrounding areas.

कर्नाटक सरकार बेंगलुरु उत्तर में 725 करोड़ रुपये की मेखरी सर्कल फ्लाईओवर परियोजना को गंभीर ट्रैफिक जाम से राहत देने के लिए तेज कर रही है। इस परियोजना में मेखरी सर्कल से बैपटिस्ट अस्पताल तक एक एलिवेटेड कॉरिडोर और हेब्बल फ्लाईओवर के आगे एक सुरंग शामिल है, जिसे ट्रैफिक के सुचारू प्रवाह के लिए एक एकीकृत समाधान के रूप में डिजाइन किया गया है। प्रारंभिक कार्य शुरू हो गया है, हालांकि हाई कोर्ट में एक मामले के कारण सुरंग वाले हिस्से में देरी हो रही है।
