Times of India · business

A Vermont couple's solar-grazing business, started in 2018 with 30 sheep, now manages vegetation across 1,500 acres of solar sites in the Northeast with 500 sheep. Agrivoltaic Solutions LLC uses livestock instead of mowers to control grass around solar panels, a model that provides steady income for farmers and lowers maintenance costs for energy companies. This approach allows sheep to graze safely under solar racks without damaging equipment. The business has expanded its operations across multiple states, demonstrating a successful synergy between renewable energy and agriculture.
