Kerala Fisheries Minister V.E. Abdul Gafoor inaugurated development works at two fishing harbours on Friday, October 23. The Puthiyappa fishing harbour project, costing ₹21.7 crore, includes auction halls, parking, and internal roads. The second phase of the Koyilandy harbour project, costing ₹20.90 crore, features a finger jetty and cold storage. The Minister stated that coastal development and improving fishers' living standards are key priorities for the government, with plans for housing and insurance schemes. Technical issues regarding fishers' pensions will also be resolved.

केरल के मत्स्य पालन मंत्री वी. ई. अब्दुल गफूर ने शुक्रवार, 23 अक्टूबर को दो मछली बंदरगाहों पर विकास कार्यों का उद्घाटन किया। पुथियाप्पा मछली बंदरगाह परियोजना, जिसकी लागत ₹21.7 करोड़ है, में नीलामी हॉल, पार्किंग और आंतरिक सड़कें शामिल हैं। कोयलंडी बंदरगाह परियोजना के दूसरे चरण में, जिसकी लागत ₹20.90 करोड़ है, फिंगर जेट्टी और कोल्ड स्टोरेज की सुविधा है। मंत्री ने कहा कि तटीय विकास और मछुआरों के जीवन स्तर में सुधार सरकार की मुख्य प्राथमिकताएं हैं, जिसमें आवास और बीमा योजनाओं की योजनाएं भी शामिल हैं। मछुआरों की पेंशन से संबंधित तकनीकी समस्याओं का भी समाधान किया जाएगा।
