Three Arrested After Forest Officials Rescue 20 Wild Pigs

Forest officials in Vijayapura successfully rescued 20 wild pigs being transported illegally from Maharashtra to Goa. Acting on a tip-off, authorities intercepted a vehicle on National Highway 52 and found the animals in poor condition. Three individuals from Dharwad were arrested, and a case was registered under the Wildlife Conservation Act-1972. The accused claimed they were unaware the animals were wild pigs, mistaking them for domestic ones. Further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the operation.
