Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani, a senior Reliance Group executive and sports administrator, has been named the Samajwadi Party's surprise candidate for the Rajya Sabha polls from Uttar Pradesh. Nathwani, who oversees key Reliance businesses and infrastructure projects, filed his nomination papers on Wednesday. He is also the president of the Gujarat Cricket Association, succeeding Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the role. Nathwani holds positions in various educational, environmental, and heritage institutions, demonstrating a diverse range of responsibilities beyond his corporate and administrative duties.
