India Publishes First Catalogue Of Butterflies, Moths

India has successfully compiled its first comprehensive catalogue of butterflies and moths, documenting a total of 13,703 species. This significant achievement is detailed in the final volume of a series published in the international journal Zootaxa. The work was authored by ZSI taxonomists Dr Rahul Joshi and Dr Navneet Singh.

भारत ने तितलियों और पतंगों की पहली विस्तृत सूची तैयार कर ली है, जिसमें कुल 13,703 प्रजातियों का दस्तावेजीकरण किया गया है। यह बड़ी उपलब्धि Zootaxa नामक अंतरराष्ट्रीय जर्नल में प्रकाशित एक श्रृंखला के अंतिम खंड में बताई गई है। यह काम ZSI के टैक्सोनॉमिस्ट डॉ राहुल जोशी और डॉ नवनीत सिंह ने किया है।
