CBI Court Discharges Printer in Decade-Old Fund Diversion Case
Times of India · business
A special CBI court in Chandigarh has discharged Neeraj Chaudhary, proprietor of M/s Sapphire Digital Printers, who faced a decade-long investigation for allegedly diverting business loan funds. His defence successfully argued that the case was a civil loan default, not a criminal offence, citing Supreme Court judgments. They presented evidence of PNB initiating civil recovery proceedings and disputed the alleged fund diversion, noting significant credit entries in the account. The court also considered the bank's refusal to prosecute its own officials and a substantial delay in filing the criminal complaint.
