Neeru Dhanda achieved a historic feat by winning India's first individual Asian Games gold medal in trap shooting. This remarkable victory came just ten days after she was hospitalized due to illness, having not trained for three-and-a-half weeks prior. Dhanda survived on water for five days and was admitted to the hospital for three days before the competition. Despite these challenges, she excelled in the final, hitting 28 out of 30 targets and setting an Asian Games record. She dedicated her win to her mother, coach, and the nation.
