CPI(M) Claims LDF Political Comeback After Bypolls

The CPI(M) has declared the results of local body by-elections in Keralam as a political comeback for the Left Democratic Front (LDF). Party State Secretary M.V. Govindan stated the LDF increased its vote share and seats, winning 18 wards while the opposition lost three. Govindan attributed the LDF's gains to public disapproval of the Congress-led UDF government, citing issues like power cuts, rising living costs, and perceived ineffective public service delivery. The CPI(M) also highlighted specific wins, including wresting a division in Kottayam district from the UDF.

सीपीआई(एम) ने केरल में स्थानीय निकाय उपचुनावों के नतीजों को लेफ्ट डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट (एलडीएफ) के लिए राजनीतिक वापसी बताया है। पार्टी के राज्य सचिव एम.वी. गोविंदन ने कहा कि एलडीएफ ने अपना वोट शेयर और सीटें बढ़ाई हैं, 18 वार्ड जीते हैं जबकि विपक्ष ने तीन गंवाए हैं। गोविंदन ने एलडीएफ की बढ़त का श्रेय कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाली यूडीएफ सरकार के प्रति जनता की नाराजगी को दिया, जिसमें बिजली कटौती, बढ़ती महंगाई और अप्रभावी जनसेवा वितरण जैसे मुद्दे शामिल हैं। सीपीआई(एम) ने खास जीत का भी जिक्र किया, जिसमें कोट्टायम जिले में यूडीएफ से एक डिविजन जीतना शामिल है।
