The Union home ministry has relaxed passport and visa requirements for several categories of foreign nationals residing in India. This includes Pakistani citizens who entered before December 31, 2009, and those belonging to religious minorities from Pakistan and Afghanistan. Sri Lankan Tamil refugees and Tibetans also benefit from these eased rules. The order also streamlines travel for citizens of Nepal and Bhutan, though specific conditions apply for travel outside their countries or transit through certain regions.
