The Punjab and Haryana High Court has prohibited all political parties and leaders from participating in the cremation of Daljeet Singh, a Mansa district resident whose death sparked protests over drug abuse. The court emphasized the right to a dignified disposal of mortal remains, regardless of the circumstances of death. Daljeet Singh's last rites will proceed immediately after a fresh post-mortem examination at PGIMER, Chandigarh, conducted under police security. This directive follows a petition by his sister seeking a CBI probe and an independent autopsy.

पंजाब और हरियाणा हाईकोर्ट ने दलजीत सिंह के अंतिम संस्कार में सभी राजनीतिक दलों और नेताओं के भाग लेने पर रोक लगा दी है। दलजीत सिंह, जो मनसा जिले के रहने वाले थे, उनकी मौत से नशीली दवाओं के दुरुपयोग के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू हो गया था। कोर्ट ने कहा कि मौत के हालात चाहे जो भी हों, हर किसी को सम्मानजनक तरीके से अंतिम विदाई का अधिकार है। दलजीत सिंह का अंतिम संस्कार PGIMER, चंडीगढ़ में पुलिस सुरक्षा में एक नई पोस्टमार्टम जांच के तुरंत बाद किया जाएगा। यह आदेश उनकी बहन की CBI जांच और स्वतंत्र पोस्टमार्टम की मांग वाली याचिका के बाद आया है।
