The Himachal Pradesh Kisan Congress has voiced strong opposition to the reduced import duty on apples, arguing it severely impacts the state's apple growers. Ravi Sharma, chief of the Kisan Congress, stated that this move contradicts promises made to local farmers and creates unfair market competition. He plans to meet with Rahul Gandhi to discuss the issue, which affects an economy worth approximately ₹5,000-6,000 crore. The organization is also expanding its reach to the grassroots level across the state to advocate for farmers' rights.
