Telangana Ends 2026 Monsoon With 17% Rainfall Deficit, 38% Lower Than Previous Year

Telangana concluded the 2026 Southwest Monsoon with a significant 17% rainfall deficit, receiving 615.5 mm against the normal 740.6 mm. This year's rainfall was also 38% lower than the 988.3 mm recorded in 2025. The deficit was observed across all four months, with August experiencing the sharpest fall of 38%. While 15 out of 33 districts remained in the normal rainfall category, 18 were deficient, and no district recorded excess rainfall. Urban areas like Hyderabad also faced substantial deficiencies.

तेलंगाना में 2026 का दक्षिण पश्चिम मॉनसून 17% की बड़ी कमी के साथ समाप्त हुआ, सामान्य 740.6 मिमी की तुलना में केवल 615.5 मिमी बारिश हुई। इस साल की बारिश 2025 में दर्ज 988.3 मिमी से भी 38% कम थी। यह कमी चारों महीनों में देखी गई, जिसमें अगस्त में सबसे तेज 38% की गिरावट आई। जहाँ 33 में से 15 जिले सामान्य बारिश की श्रेणी में रहे, वहीं 18 में कमी देखी गई और किसी भी जिले में सामान्य से अधिक बारिश नहीं हुई। हैदराबाद जैसे शहरी इलाकों ने भी काफी कमी का सामना किया।
