Punjab Farm Fires Rise, Season Tally Reaches 32

Punjab has recorded five new farm fire incidents, bringing the season's total to 32 in just 11 days. Amritsar leads with 18 incidents, followed by Tarn Taran and Ferozepur. Authorities have imposed environmental compensation totalling Rs 40,000 in eight cases and issued notices to officers. This increase occurs as the central government introduces draft rules to curb winter air pollution, including adverse entries in land records for farmers detected burning stubble. These entries can impact agricultural loans and property sales.

पंजाब में पराली जलाने की पाँच नई घटनाएँ सामने आई हैं, जिससे इस सीज़न में सिर्फ़ 11 दिनों में कुल 32 मामले हो गए हैं। अमृतसर में 18 घटनाओं के साथ सबसे ज़्यादा मामले हैं, इसके बाद तरन तारन और फ़िरोज़पुर का नंबर आता है। आठ मामलों में 40,000 रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया गया है और अधिकारियों को नोटिस जारी किए गए हैं। यह वृद्धि ऐसे समय में हुई है जब केंद्र सरकार सर्दियों के प्रदूषण को कम करने के लिए नए नियम ला रही है, जिसमें पराली जलाने वाले किसानों के भूमि रिकॉर्ड में प्रतिकूल प्रविष्टि शामिल है।
