Bloomberg Philanthropies has donated $1 billion to Johns Hopkins University, significantly expanding financial aid for graduate students. Starting in autumn 2024, medical students from families earning under $300,000 annually will receive tuition-free education. Furthermore, students from families earning up to $175,000 can get support for both tuition and living expenses. This initiative aims to remove financial barriers, ensuring that a student's economic background does not prevent them from pursuing advanced medical training. The university estimates nearly two-thirds of incoming medical students will benefit.
