IISER Thiruvananthapuram Professor Found Dead

Jayanta Sarkar, a 33-year-old assistant professor at IISER Thiruvananthapuram's School of Mathematics, was discovered deceased on campus early Sunday morning. His motorcycle was found parked nearby. Sarkar, originally from West Bengal, joined IISER last December and specialized in Harmonic Analysis. He held a PhD from the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. The cause of his death remains undetermined by police, and the academic community has expressed condolences.

तिरुवनंतपुरम के प्रोफेसर मृत मिले

आई.आई.एस.ई.आर. तिरुवनंतपुरम के स्कूल ऑफ मैथमेटिक्स में सहायक प्रोफेसर, जयंता सरकार (33) का शव रविवार सुबह कैंपस में मिला। उनकी मोटरसाइकिल पास में खड़ी थी। पश्चिम बंगाल के रहने वाले जयंता दिसंबर में ही आई.आई.एस.ई.आर. से जुड़े थे और हार्मोनिक एनालिसिस के विशेषज्ञ थे। उन्होंने कोलकाता के इंडियन स्टैटिस्टिकल इंस्टिट्यूट से पीएचडी की थी। पुलिस अभी मौत का कारण पता नहीं लगा पाई है, और अकादमिक जगत ने शोक व्यक्त किया है।
