Phool Kumari, a tribal farmer from Jharkhand, transformed her family's modest income by starting poultry farming with 100 chicks in 2018. Initially earning ₹50,000-60,000 annually from rain-dependent agriculture, her enterprise now nets ₹2.23 lakh per year through selling adult birds, chicks, and eggs. Supported by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Gumla, she expanded her business with a hatchery. Kumari's success has inspired approximately 30 other women in her village to adopt improved backyard poultry farming, creating a ripple effect of economic empowerment.
