The government is considering legislation to regulate these establishments, which are often opened without complying with legal requirements. Concerns have been raised about sexual exploitation and women being trafficked for employment in these spas. The Ayurveda Medical Association of India has also called for action against fake Ayurvedic spas, citing damage to the state's tourism and the reputation of Ayurveda.
