A retail store in Ludhiana has been ordered to pay ₹10,000 in compensation and litigation costs for selling an expired mosquito repellent cream. The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission directed the store to refund the ₹75 cost of the product to a consumer, Satnam Singh. The commission also mandated that the store cease unfair trade practices and refrain from selling expired goods. The retailer's defence that the bill lacked specific product identifiers was rejected, as the commission noted they withheld crucial evidence.

लुधियाना के एक रिटेल स्टोर को एक्सपायर्ड मच्छर भगाने वाली क्रीम बेचने पर ₹10,000 का हर्जाना और मुकदमेबाजी का खर्च देने का आदेश दिया गया है। डिस्ट्रिक्ट कंज्यूमर डिस्प्यूट्स रिड्रेसल कमीशन ने स्टोर को ग्राहक सतनाम सिंह को ₹75 की प्रोडक्ट की कीमत वापस करने का निर्देश दिया। कमीशन ने यह भी आदेश दिया कि स्टोर अनुचित व्यापार प्रथाओं को बंद करे और एक्सपायर्ड सामान बेचने से बचे। रिटेलर का यह बचाव कि बिल में प्रोडक्ट की विशिष्ट पहचान नहीं थी, खारिज कर दिया गया, क्योंकि कमीशन ने नोट किया कि उन्होंने महत्वपूर्ण सबूत छिपाए थे।
