TPCC has announced candidates for 49 out of 51 wards in the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), opting to go solo in the upcoming civic polls. This decision follows the Left Front's independent declaration of nominees for 32 AMC wards, despite an earlier informal understanding between Congress and CPM leaders to contest jointly. Congress will field candidates in all wards of 15 other civic bodies, though they cited intimidation by BJP supporters for not contesting in five specific locations.
