Microsoft Denies Replacing US Workers Amid Visa Fraud Allegations
Hindustan Times · business
Microsoft has responded to allegations from the Trump administration that it used the PERM program to replace American workers with cheaper foreign labor. The company stated that the vast majority of its US employees are Americans and that it believes in the strength of the American workforce. Microsoft clarified that out of approximately 6,000 H-1B visa applications filed last fiscal year, 80% were for existing employees, not new hires. The remaining filings for new employees were for individuals already legally in the US, representing only 1% of its US workforce.
