Daughter of Milk Seller Ankita Bhakat Wins Gold Medal at Asian Games

TV9 Hindi · sports

Ankita Bhakat was a key player in the women's recurve team that won a gold medal at the Asian Games 2026. She achieved this feat alongside Kumkum Mohod and Kirti Sharma. Bhakat's victory is particularly significant as she previously lacked the funds to even buy a bow, with her father being a milk seller. For six years, she competed in Indian Round using traditional wooden bows and borrowed equipment for practice. Her aunt eventually helped her acquire a bow, and she joined the Tata Archery Academy in 2014.
