Her son, Munna Bhagat, had purchased an endowment plan in 2014 and died the same year. The insurer initially rejected Devi's claim, alleging misrepresentation of occupation and income in the proposal form. The commission noted the insurer's failure to verify details before issuing the policy, questioning the late objection. It modified a previous district forum order, reducing the payout as accident-related benefits were not sufficiently established.

बिहार उपभोक्ता आयोग ने एक बीमा कंपनी को किशोरी देवी को 6% सालाना ब्याज के साथ 7.34 लाख रुपये का भुगतान करने का आदेश दिया है। उनके बेटे, मुन्ना भगत ने 2014 में एक एंडोमेंट प्लान खरीदा था और उसी साल उनकी मृत्यु हो गई थी। बीमाकर्ता ने शुरू में देवी के दावे को खारिज कर दिया था, जिसमें प्रस्ताव फॉर्म में व्यवसाय और आय के बारे में गलत जानकारी देने का आरोप लगाया गया था। आयोग ने पॉलिसी जारी करने से पहले बीमाकर्ता द्वारा विवरण सत्यापित करने में विफलता पर ध्यान दिया, और आपत्ति में देरी पर सवाल उठाया।
