India's Own Missile Shield Challenges Need for S-500

India's development of its own Ballistic Missile Defence shield, including successful Phase-II trials with AD-1 and AD-2 interceptors, raises questions about the necessity of acquiring Russia's S-500 system. The indigenous system demonstrated the capability to intercept ballistic missiles both inside and outside the atmosphere. This advancement places India among nations capable of defending against ICBM-class threats, potentially reducing reliance on foreign defence technology.
