Delhi's urban poor are set to receive permanent housing under a new government policy aimed at redeveloping approximately 675 slum clusters. This initiative plans to provide around 4 lakh families with concrete homes featuring rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and balconies, replacing their current tin-roofed shanties. Eligible families will contribute ₹1.50 lakh towards the cost of a minimum 25-square-meter dwelling. The redevelopment will prioritize keeping residents in their existing localities to minimize disruption to their livelihoods and education.

दिल्ली के शहरी गरीबों को झुग्गी पुनर्वास की नई सरकारी नीति के तहत पक्के घर मिलने वाले हैं। इस नीति से करीब 675 झुग्गी बस्तियों का पुनर्वास किया जाएगा। इस पहल के तहत लगभग 4 लाख परिवारों को उनके मौजूदा टिन की छतों वाली झुग्गियों की जगह कमरे, रसोई, बाथरूम और बालकनी वाले पक्के घर मिलेंगे। योग्य परिवार 25 वर्ग मीटर के न्यूनतम आवास की लागत के लिए ₹1.50 लाख का योगदान देंगे। पुनर्वास में निवासियों को उनकी आजीविका और शिक्षा में न्यूनतम व्यवधान के लिए मौजूदा इलाकों में रखने को प्राथमिकता दी जाएगी।
