Democracy Strengthened by Citizen Questions, Says CM Shivakumar

Addressing the National Law School of India University convocation, he emphasized that true democratic strength lies in citizens' freedom to challenge authority, not in universal agreement. Shivakumar also highlighted the importance of constitutional principles in governance and urged graduates to measure success by the lives they improve.

कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री डीके शिवकुमार ने कहा कि एक मजबूत लोकतंत्र तब फलता-फूलता है जब नागरिक बिना डरे सरकार से सवाल पूछ सकते हैं। नेशनल लॉ स्कूल ऑफ इंडिया यूनिवर्सिटी के दीक्षांत समारोह को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि सच्ची लोकतांत्रिक ताकत सत्ता को चुनौती देने की नागरिकों की स्वतंत्रता में निहित है, न कि सार्वभौमिक सहमति में। शिवकुमार ने शासन में संवैधानिक सिद्धांतों के महत्व को भी रेखांकित किया और स्नातकों से उनके द्वारा सुधारे गए जीवन से अपनी सफलता को मापने का आग्रह किया।
