Court Halts Gauhati University General Secretary-Elect From Taking Charge

A civil court in Kamrup (Metro) has prevented Madhurjya Plaban Talukdar, the newly declared general secretary of Gauhati University, from assuming office. This decision follows a legal challenge by rival candidate Nayan Akash Bora, whose nomination was previously cancelled. Bora's nomination cancellation was deemed arbitrary and biased by the court, despite the university citing eligibility issues. The court's order restrains parties from implementing the notification regarding Bora's candidature and prevents anyone from assuming the general secretary role until further notice.

कामरूप (मेट्रो) की एक सिविल कोर्ट ने गौहाटी यूनिवर्सिटी के नवनिर्वाचित महासचिव मधुरज्या प्लाबन तालुकदार को पदभार ग्रहण करने से रोक दिया है। यह फैसला प्रतिद्वंद्वी उम्मीदवार नयन आकाश बोरा द्वारा दायर कानूनी चुनौती के बाद आया है, जिनकी उम्मीदवारी पहले रद्द कर दी गई थी। यूनिवर्सिटी द्वारा पात्रता संबंधी समस्याओं का हवाला देने के बावजूद, कोर्ट ने बोरा की उम्मीदवारी रद्द करने को मनमाना और पक्षपातपूर्ण माना। कोर्ट के आदेश में पार्टियों को बोरा की उम्मीदवारी से संबंधित अधिसूचना को लागू करने से रोका गया है और आगे के आदेश तक किसी को भी महासचिव का पद संभालने से मना किया गया है।
