Iran's Strait of Hormuz Attacks Largely Unsuccessful, US Military Says

Fox News World · world

The vast majority of Iran's attempted attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz are unsuccessful, according to U.S. Central Command Spokesperson Capt. Tim Hawkins. He stated that approximately 97% of ships seeking to transit the waterway have done so safely, with U.S. forces assisting in protecting thousands of vessels. Despite recent incidents, including a projectile hitting the GFS Pride, the Strait remains open for transit. The IRGC's objective of closing the Strait has not been achieved, and over 20 civilian mariners have been killed by Iran's attacks since February.
