Disability Alone Doesn't Guarantee Site Allotment, Rules Karnataka High Court
Times of India · india
The Karnataka High Court has ruled that individuals with disabilities cannot claim site allotment from a Development Authority solely based on their disability status. Justice Suraj Govindaraj clarified that an application must be submitted in the prescribed format in response to a public notification. Merely registering and paying a fee, as done by one petitioner, does not constitute a valid application. The court quashed an order directing allotment, emphasizing the need for a formal application process following official notifications for site reservations.
