Indian Refiners Cut Russian Oil Buys Amid Rising Prices

Business Standard · business

Indian refiners are reducing purchases of Russian crude for November, as prices for Urals crude have increased significantly. This shift occurs as shipments from West Asia become more competitive and available. Russian crude, once heavily discounted, is now priced nearly on par with West Asian grades, making them more attractive. Moscow's share of India's crude imports dropped to about 35% in September from 56% in July, indicating a clear diversification strategy by Indian buyers.
