Kerala Seeks Doubled Kerosene Allocation Amid Sharp Shortfall
Times of India · india
Kerala's Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob has urged the Union government to increase the state's quarterly kerosene allocation from 4,068 kilolitres to 9,564 kilolitres due to a significant shortfall. The Centre's reduced allocation is creating a serious shortage, impacting economically weaker sections, migrant workers, and families in remote areas who rely on subsidised kerosene. The state government has proposed increasing the distribution quantity from 0.5L to 1L per cardholder.
