Despite intermittent showers, Kolkata residents enthusiastically thronged Durga Puja pandals on Panchami, continuing celebrations that began on Chaturthi night. Long queues were observed at popular pandals, with visitors persisting until the early hours of Thursday. The rain, though causing inconvenience and temporary waterlogging, did not deter the festive spirit, with umbrellas and raincoats becoming essential accessories. Organisers noted encouraging turnout despite the weather challenges, while the Met office predicted similar showers for Friday and Saturday.
