Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav visited the JPNIC in Lucknow on Jayaprakash Narayan's birth anniversary, accusing the BJP government of selling the memorial. He stated that the current government disrespects freedom fighters and seeks profit, even from national heroes' legacies. Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak dismissed Yadav's visit as a 'drama', questioning the Samajwadi Party's use of leaders' names. Pathak clarified that JPNIC was leased for better management, not sold, to ensure public funds are used effectively. He also questioned the cost escalation of projects during the previous SP government.

समाजवादी पार्टी के मुखिया अखिलेश यादव ने जयप्रकाश नारायण की जयंती पर लखनऊ में जेपीएनआईसी का दौरा किया और बीजेपी सरकार पर मेमोरियल बेचने का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने कहा कि मौजूदा सरकार स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों का अपमान करती है और राष्ट्रीय नायकों की विरासत से भी मुनाफा कमाना चाहती है। उप मुख्यमंत्री बृजेश पाठक ने यादव के दौरे को 'नाटक' बताकर खारिज कर दिया और समाजवादी पार्टी द्वारा नेताओं के नाम के इस्तेमाल पर सवाल उठाया। पाठक ने स्पष्ट किया कि जेपीएनआईसी को बेहतर प्रबंधन के लिए लीज पर दिया गया था, बेचा नहीं गया था, ताकि जनता के पैसे का प्रभावी ढंग से उपयोग सुनिश्चित हो सके।
