Kerala HC Seeks Report On Pocso Courts

The Kerala High Court has requested a detailed affidavit from the registrar of district judiciary concerning the necessity of additional courts for trying Pocso cases across the state. This directive came while reviewing a Public Interest Litigation highlighting inadequate facilities and non-compliance with guidelines in existing Pocso special courts. The court also ordered immediate steps to ensure conformity with guidelines and directed the state government to provide suitable infrastructure if space is insufficient.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने राज्य भर में Pocso मामलों की सुनवाई के लिए अतिरिक्त अदालतों की आवश्यकता के बारे में जिला न्यायपालिका के रजिस्ट्रार से विस्तृत हलफनामा मांगा है। यह निर्देश मौजूदा Pocso विशेष अदालतों में अपर्याप्त सुविधाओं और दिशानिर्देशों का पालन न करने पर प्रकाश डालने वाली एक जनहित याचिका की समीक्षा के दौरान आया। अदालत ने दिशानिर्देशों के अनुपालन को सुनिश्चित करने के लिए तत्काल कदम उठाने का भी आदेश दिया और राज्य सरकार को जगह अपर्याप्त होने पर उपयुक्त बुनियादी ढांचा प्रदान करने का निर्देश दिया।
