Congress seeks Nagaon DEO removal after convoy attack

APCC has petitioned the Election Commission of India (ECI) to remove Nagaon district election officer Aranyak Saikia. This follows an attack on the Congress campaign convoy at Borma bazaar. The APCC alleges the district administration failed to act despite warnings and downplayed the incident. Congress leaders, including AICC secretary Manoj Chauhan and Assam Pradesh Mahila Congress president Mira Borthakur, sustained injuries from stone-pelting, and vehicles were damaged.

एपीसीसी ने चुनाव आयोग से नागांव जिले के चुनाव अधिकारी अरण्यक सैकिया को हटाने की मांग की है। यह मांग कांग्रेस के चुनाव प्रचार वाहन पर बोरमा बाज़ार में हुए हमले के बाद की गई है। एपीसीसी का आरोप है कि चेतावनी के बावजूद जिला प्रशासन ने कार्रवाई नहीं की और घटना को कम करके आंका। इस पत्थरबाजी में एआईसीसी सचिव मनोज चौहान और असम प्रदेश महिला कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मीरा बोर्थाकुर समेत कई कांग्रेसी घायल हुए और गाड़ियां क्षतिग्रस्त हो गईं।
