IPS Quota in Senior CAPF Posts Now In Force

A new act mandating 50% of Inspector General posts, 67% of Additional Director General posts, and 100% of Director General and Special Director General posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to be filled by IPS officers on deputation has come into effect. The Home Ministry specified as the appointed day for the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Act, 2026, to be operational. This move faces opposition from CAPF cadre officers who argue it hinders their career progression.

एक नया कानून लागू हो गया है जिसके तहत सेंट्रल आर्म्ड पुलिस फोर्सेज (सीएपीएफ) में इंस्पेक्टर जनरल के 50%, एडिशनल डायरेक्टर जनरल के 67% और डायरेक्टर जनरल और स्पेशल डायरेक्टर जनरल के 100% पदों को प्रतिनियुक्ति पर आईपीएस अधिकारियों द्वारा भरा जाएगा। गृह मंत्रालय ने सेंट्रल आर्म्ड पुलिस फोर्सेज (जनरल एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन) एक्ट, 2026 के लागू होने की तारीख तय कर दी है। इस कदम का सीएपीएफ कैडर के अधिकारियों ने विरोध किया है, उनका कहना है कि इससे उनके करियर में बाधा आएगी।
