Delhi Police Urges Restraint Ahead of CJP Protest

The protest demands the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over electoral roll revisions. Delhi Police denied permission for the protest at Jantar Mantar due to late application and past violations.

दिल्ली पुलिस के संयुक्त आयुक्त मधुर वर्मा ने 10 अक्टूबर को कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (सीजेपी) के विरोध प्रदर्शन से पहले कर्मियों से संयम बरतने की अपील की है। वर्मा ने कहा कि बल की ताकत भीड़ को अनुशासन, गरिमा और न्यूनतम बल के साथ संभालना है। सुरक्षा बढ़ाने के लिए गृह मंत्रालय ने 23,000 केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बल के कर्मियों को उपलब्ध कराया है। विरोध प्रदर्शन में चुनावी रोल संशोधन को लेकर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञाननेश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग की गई है। दिल्ली पुलिस ने देर से आवेदन और पिछली उल्लंघनों के कारण जंतर मंतर पर विरोध प्रदर्शन की अनुमति देने से इनकार कर दिया।
