Morgan Stanley has adopted a more hawkish stance, now predicting two U.S. Federal Reserve rate hikes in 2026 due to persistent inflation. They expect a 25 basis point increase in September and another in December, citing stronger-than-expected inflation data. This revised outlook reflects concerns that inflation is not receding sustainably towards the Fed's target. The brokerage also anticipates a rate hike from the European Central Bank in December, influenced by resilient eurozone.
