The Centre has informed the Supreme Court that administrative approval has been granted to new rules under the 2024 Act, aimed at regulating India's aviation sector. These rules, expected to be published within two weeks, will address concerns over fluctuating airfares and passenger protection. The court was hearing a plea seeking a robust regulator to control unpredictable airfare spikes and ensure transparency. The government had previously assured the court of fast-tracking these rules, which are part of the Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024. The next hearing is scheduled for November 16.
