Despite producing over 12.5 lakh BTech seats in 2024-25, India struggles with basic urban infrastructure like flood control and heat management. Computer science enrollment dominates, far outpacing civil engineering, which is crucial for building and maintaining drains and resilient housing. This lopsided talent allocation means cities face recurring issues like waterlogging and heat, highlighting a gap between trained engineers and critical civic needs.

साल 2024-25 में भारत में 12.5 लाख से ज़्यादा BTech सीटें होने के बावजूद, शहरों में बाढ़ नियंत्रण और गर्मी से निपटने जैसी बुनियादी सुविधाओं की कमी है। कंप्यूटर साइंस में एडमिशन बहुत ज़्यादा है, जबकि सिविल इंजीनियरिंग, जो नालियों और मज़बूत घरों के लिए ज़रूरी है, पीछे छूट गई है। इस गड़बड़ टैलेंट की वजह से शहरों में बार-बार जलभराव और गर्मी की समस्याएँ आती हैं।
