Wild Horse Population Tops 900 in China

The Przewalski’s horse, the world's last truly wild horse, has seen its population in China grow to approximately 900. This marks a significant rebound after the species was once extinct in the wild in the country. China's Wild Horse Return Program, initiated in 1986, has focused on breeding, relocating, and protecting these animals. Today, the horses are reproducing independently in several protected areas, symbolizing ecological restoration.

चीन में प्रिज़ेवाल्स्की घोड़े की आबादी बढ़कर करीब 900 हो गई है। यह दुनिया का आखिरी असली जंगली घोड़ा है। एक समय यह चीन में विलुप्त हो गया था, लेकिन अब इसकी संख्या में अच्छी खासी बढ़ोतरी हुई है। 1986 में शुरू हुए चीन के 'वाइल्ड हॉर्स रिटर्न प्रोग्राम' के तहत इन घोड़ों को पालने, सुरक्षित जगहों पर छोड़ने और उनकी रक्षा करने पर ध्यान दिया गया।
