The Supreme Court had previously stayed these age restrictions while hearing a petition. बार काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया (BCI) ने लॉ कोर्स में एडमिशन के लिए अधिकतम आयु सीमा हटा दी है। यह फैसला सुप्रीम कोर्ट को बताया गया है। पहले BCI ने 5 साल के लॉ कोर्स के लिए 22 साल और 3 साल के लॉ कोर्स के लिए 45 साल की आयु सीमा तय की थी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहले एक याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए इन आयु प्रतिबंधों पर रोक लगा चुका था। BCI के इस फैसले का मकसद, एक प्रस्ताव के आधार पर, कानूनी शिक्षा को सभी इच्छुक छात्रों के लिए उनकी उम्र की परवाह किए बिना सुलभ बनाना है।
