President Droupadi Murmu Approves Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority Bill

President Droupadi Murmu has granted assent to the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill 2026, passed by the Nagaland Assembly. This bill establishes the FNTA, granting legislative, executive, and financial autonomy to six eastern districts of Nagaland. The move aims to realize the aspirations of the people of Eastern Nagaland through democratic, decentralized self-governance. An interim council will oversee FNTA affairs during a transitional period until elections are held for its constitution.

राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने नागालैंड विधानसभा द्वारा पारित फ्रंटियर नागालैंड टेरिटोरियल अथॉरिटी (FNTA) बिल 2026 को अपनी मंज़ूरी दे दी है। यह बिल FNTA की स्थापना करता है, जिससे नागालैंड के छह पूर्वी जिलों को विधायी, कार्यकारी और वित्तीय स्वायत्तता मिलेगी। इस कदम का उद्देश्य लोकतांत्रिक, विकेन्द्रीकृत स्व-शासन के माध्यम से पूर्वी नागालैंड के लोगों की आकांक्षाओं को पूरा करना है। इसके संविधान के लिए चुनाव होने तक एक अंतरिम परिषद संक्रमण काल के दौरान FNTA के मामलों की देखरेख करेगी।
