Drunk Truck Driver Attacks BJP MLA Ritu Baran With Dagger in Assam

A truck driver, allegedly intoxicated, attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Ritu Baran Sarmah in Assam's Sonitpur district on Sunday. The incident occurred outside the MLA's office after the driver rammed a parked party vehicle. Sarmah stated that no one was inside the office during the ramming, but the driver later produced a dagger and became aggressive. Two home guards sustained minor injuries during the scuffle. Police intervened and apprehended the driver after a brief struggle, and a case has been registered against him.

रविवार को असम के सोनितपुर जिले में भारतीय जनता पार्टी (BJP) के MLA रितु बरन सरमा पर कथित तौर पर नशे में धुत एक ट्रक ड्राइवर ने हमला कर दिया। यह घटना MLA के ऑफिस के बाहर हुई, जब ड्राइवर ने एक खड़ी पार्टी की गाड़ी में टक्कर मार दी। सरमा ने बताया कि टक्कर के समय ऑफिस में कोई नहीं था, लेकिन बाद में ड्राइवर ने खंजर निकाला और आक्रामक हो गया। इस हाथापाई में दो होमगार्ड को मामूली चोटें आईं। पुलिस ने हस्तक्षेप किया और थोड़ी मशक्कत के बाद ड्राइवर को पकड़ लिया, और उसके खिलाफ मामला दर्ज कर लिया गया है।
